New Urban Square

An experimental project examining the relationship between public functions and the environment that contain them.
The main goal is to create a new form of public space, to replace the traditional city square, that has long lost its social qualities.
The project is situated in Kikar Hamedina Square, Tel Aviv, a highly accessible venue to pedestrians, private vehicles and public transport.
The projects concept is to create a multi-purpose public arena, which shall facilitate social activity.
Adjacent to the arena are a multitude of additional venues that serve many public needs, such as: a youth center, outdoor theatre, sport facilities, commercial zone and more.
This project is bound to change the perceptual image of the Kikar Hamedina Square.
